Ripponden in Bloom Newsletter September 2012

This month
We have cut back from the summer and planted winter bulbs. We have also cleared a large amount of the stinging nettles from Royd Lane and planted Red Campion for visual effect for next year.

Yorkshire In Bloom
The village won a Silver – well done to all those who helped us to make the place look so brilliant.

Calendar 2013
Now on sale at £5.50 each or two for £10. They are available from:
Urchin Kids. Toll House, Ripponden Fish Bar. Amelia, The Plant Mill, Far Barsey, Hoofers Dance Studio and Triangle and Barkisland Post Office. Please help us sell as many of these as possible it is our only big fundraising activity this year.

We raised over £300 thank you so much to everyone who supported us. The weather was kind and we had a tremendous number of really good value prizes on the tombola.

We have a broken railing planter at the bus stop. We have purchased a replacement, however it is very heavy work to change it over and we would appreciate some help on the 13th October 10am – 12noon If you can come and lend a hand, your time and muscles it would be much valued.

Thank you to all
